A Little Piece of Light (ALPOL) connects formerly incarcerated women, girls, and transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals to vital services, resources and opportunities. To help formerly incarcerated women reach their highest potential, ALPOL works with local businesses to create employment opportunities and social service agencies to secure stable housing. It also provides leadership workshops, mentorship, reentry housing and counseling. Particular attention is paid to LGBTQ youth, including trans youth of color, and women with disabilities. This grant provides general operating support to ALPOL in pursuit of its goal to create a community of leaders equipped with the tools, knowledge, confidence, networks and opportunities to engage as full citizens in our economy and democracy.
