Unrestricted Funding
Since 1967, The Fortune Society (Fortune) has provided training and support services for people returning home from prison to break the cycle of incarceration and help them become positive, contributing members of society. It currently serves 9,000 annually through a “one-stop-shop” model that includes, among other things, housing, education, employment, outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, health services (including HIV and AIDS), family services, food and nutrition programming, creative arts, digital literacy and lifetime aftercare. It also advocates on behalf of clients and the justice-impacted population through the David Rothenberg Center for Public Policy and shares research through its Center for Research, Inquiry and Social Justice. This grant provides general operating support to Fortune as it continues to expand its impact and achieve its goals.
