Supporting Organizing Work-Connecticut (SOW-CT) is a funder collaborative that was launched in 2017 by 10 foundations, including The Tow Foundation. It addresses the philanthropic community’s growing interest in supporting organizing as a strategy to promote community change, equity and justice around such issue areas as education, health care, criminal justice, racial justice and immigration. Members meet monthly to build partnerships, exchange ideas, share experiences and learn from organizers. This grant provides general operating support to SOW-CT as it builds the power, tools and resources of Black, Indigenous or People of Color (BIPOC) grassroots organizers to drive systemic change and advance social and racial justice in CT.
