To engage urban youth in the creation of media projects that help raise awareness of issues impacting their lives and communities. Youth learn to link the issues they identify with larger social justice themes and develop transferable skills in media literacy and production, public speaking and facilitation. Student work is screened in community settings, followed by youth-led group discussion. Youth leave YRM’s programs with a sense of the power of their own voices and the ability to harness that power and express themselves via various media channels.
