Ligia Marroquín joined The Tow Foundation in 2023 and serves as its grants manager. Prior to her work with the Foundation, Ligia worked as a grants and operations manager at the Educational Foundation of America and as a private client advisor at Foundation Source, managing a portfolio of private foundations.
As grants manager, Ligia combines her dual passions for working with others and optimizing systems to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Foundation’s grantmaking procedures. She serves as a strategic partner for the program, finance and executive teams across many aspects of the Foundation’s work, including program monitoring, contracts and financial management, grant payments and financial and legal compliance. Ligia also cultivates and maintains relationships with the Foundation’s grantee partners, working to ensure the Foundation’s grantmaking is as smooth as possible for those receiving funding.
In her free time, Ligia enjoys the arts, traveling and learning about different cultures. Originally from Guatemala, Ligia often travels back home to spend time with family.
Ligia has a BS in architectural technology from the New York Institute of Technology and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut. Ligia is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, a global honor society for public affairs and administration.
