Introducing Changemakers, a digital series showcasing the organizations and initiatives shaping our future. Our first profile is on Measures for Justice (MFJ), a nonpartisan nonprofit focused on collecting, analyzing and sharing criminal justice data.
Measures for Justice…
Envisions a country where criminal justice reform is grounded in fact.
Because it believes good data in the hands of the people will generate positive change.
To get there, it collects, standardizes and makes freely available county-level criminal justice data from across the United States.
Its major innovation is its free data portal, which allows practitioners, government, advocates, the media and the public to see criminal justice data for themselves, with filters to sort by race/ethnicity, financial status, sex, age, offense type and severity.
